I did some checking on tripadvisor.com and weeded out some I would not stay in even for free and came up with these suggestions, in no order of preference. I was checking for two nights, November 2 and 3. Rates quoted are from tripadvisor.com. Your rates may vary.
Kingston
Super 8 is next door to Hardee's at the Kingston exit (352) of I-40. Tripadvisor.com says there are no rooms available either night. Other than the Knights Inn (former Gray-Badger Inn that was there when we were in school), the only other options are on Gallahar Road (exit 356), so you might as well go on to Oak Ridge or Harriman.
Whitestone Country Inn is an upscale bed & breakfast located in the Paint Rock/Midway area of Kingston. Rate is $165 up. Very nice facility in a quiet location if you're interested. From downtown Kingston, it's 15 miles and about 20 minutes.
Harriman
Comfort Inn is near the Harriman exit (347) on I-40. Rates quoted were $87 to $105. Rated #1 in Harriman by tripadvisor.com.
Holiday Inn Express is also near the Harriman exit of I-40. Rates quoted were $79 to $109. Rated #2 in Harriman by tripadvisor.com.
Oak Ridge
Doubletree Inn is of course our evening reunion event hotel. Their rate from tripadvisor.com was $79 to $109. Rated #5 in Oak Ridge by tripadvisor.com. We have a block of 10 rooms reserved under group code RCC for a king bed for $82 but must confirm by October 24th.
